Homebody is, at its core, a brand that celebrates community and story-telling. Owner, Sarah Sytsma dreamed of opening a boutique that created a retail experience of discovery, a brush with what could be. A place for customers to lose – and find themselves. In 2019 what was once a little girl’s dream became a reality, Homebody opened its doors in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Our brand focuses on an unimagined customer experience and elevated merchandising that creates a story for every season that ventures beyond just selling. We aren’t interested in defining a single style, or telling our customer what they can or can’t be. Instead, we recognize sensibility across many lifestyles – a way of looking, seeing, and being – and telling that story through a diverse assortment of wares. This allows us to respond and offer our customers the latest trends and still stay true to who we are. 

It is our hope that you are able to venture through our doors to experience our beautifully unique store. Our space leverages historic architectural details, one-of-a-kind furniture, and displays curated from local flea markets and vintage shops. Each display is custom-composed for its space to make you feel cozy at home while shopping in our store. We strive to leave our customers wanting more and feeling inspired to wear that new dress that is unexpectedly perfect. 

The heartbeat of our small business is our local community and the relationships that we create and cultivate with each customer that walks through our store. Together, we tell stories. Home is where our hearts are – then, now and forever.
